A corrupted smile played with the corners of Henry Lor's mouth. "Like that little touch, lawyer man?"
Shurley looked at Seacraft in a brief exchange of knowing glances.
Henry dislodged the stub of the cigar from his brown teeth and examined it. "Probably wouldn't have thought of it," he admitted, "but I guess old Betty knocked the damned tombstone off Malcolm's grave when she drove over the edge. So there I was with old Teddy layin' on the ground whimperin' and that big black hole yawnin' up at me. Honest to God, I could actually look down there and see the casket . . . and then it hit me. I figured I'd just drag old Teddy over to the hole, pry the casket open and dump him in there with his daddy. You know how he was always braggin' about how him and his daddy was so close. Just for the hell of it, I got down in there and wrapped them brittle old bones around Teddy just like they was a huggin' each other. You shoulda heard Teddy boy screamin' when I slammed that lid shut. Fact is, I could still hear him right up to the time I slid the base of that old tombstone back over the hole."
Robert Shurley felt a chill race down his back.
"Well," Seacraft sighed, "it's done. Two down and one to go."
"We won't have to wait too long," Shurley
